Comment on Paris Travel Guide (2025): What to Expect by Solis https://misadventureswithandi.com/paris-travel-guide-what-to-expect/#comment-665473 https://misadventureswithandi.com/?p=90005#comment-665473 Thanks Andi, as a Parisian who’s lived here for years, I really appreciate the honesty in this guide—especially about strikes and metro changes, which can catch visitors off guard! A couple of tips from a local: skip the usual crowded spots during peak hours and head instead to places like the Canal Saint-Martin area or the covered passages near Grands Boulevards for a more authentic vibe and charming cafés. Also, don’t miss the Musée Jacquemart-André—a stunning mansion with incredible art but way less crowded than the big museums.

With Notre-Dame reopening, it’s definitely worth the early morning visit to avoid crowds, but I’d add that exploring the crypt underneath or walking around the nearby Ile Saint-Louis is magical and often overlooked by tourists.

Comment on Mont St Michel France – Go Before 10 am or Don’t Go at All! by Mark McConway https://misadventureswithandi.com/mont-st-michel-france/#comment-664977 http://misadventureswithandi.com/?p=53930#comment-664977 I really enjoyed reading your post. It was evocative, interesting with wonderful pics… and practical. I’m hoping to go across there (from Scotland) in October, with family. I will probably refer to this nearer the time, to remind me of the best times to go to the island, and to avoid being overcharged. Thanks again!

Comment on French Men’s Fashion – How To Dress Like A Parisian Man by Sandro https://misadventureswithandi.com/french-mens-fashion/#comment-664567 https://misadventureswithandi.com/?p=73962#comment-664567 Hello! I really loved your article, and I also fell in love with the Olive-green blazer loaded with the blue pattern and the red pin. It’s the 4th picture from the bottom. Do you have information about this piece maybe? I’ve been looking for it or something similar for a few days but nothing comes close. Not necessarily the colour, but the style of the blazer is what I really liked.

Any information would be highly appreciated 🙂

Comment on Dining Etiquette in France – How to Survive a Restaurant in Paris! by K https://misadventureswithandi.com/dining-etiquette-in-france/#comment-664535 http://misadventureswithandi.com/?p=50840#comment-664535 Very insightful tips! One question. You said not to put the bread on the plate. Where should you then put it? You mentioned breaking it near the upper left edge of your plate where there may be a small plate (to catch the crumbs from breaking, I imagine?). After you break it and catch crumbs, are you supposed to put the bread back in the basket? I’ve heard someone say you must put it on the table, but what if I don’t trust that the table is clean? Are there other acceptable ways of handling this?

Comment on 11 Things I Love and Hate about Key West Florida by spencer https://misadventureswithandi.com/key-west-florida/#comment-664529 https://misadventureswithandi.com/?p=18156#comment-664529 I have been there many times over the years and have stayed on Stockton Island as well on Key West. You have to know what to expect. It has some weird people but so does California and Texas. It’s filled with history and exploring the rest of the Keys is enjoyable as well. Get off from Dovall street and then you can enjoy the real Key West.

@Melissa, once you arrive by train (take the train to Pontorson and then a direct shuttle bus to the site from there) you can walk from the parking lot to the farm with the sheep field in 5-7 minutes!
