@April, thanks for letting me know about the shuttle and it is a good point, we have been in March and April too before high season and there were definitely less boats than when we went in May! Haven’t seen dolphins yet (or turtles on the beaches) would love to see that!

Once in September and the other time was in November. Both times I had a great time. The later in the year that you go to Shackleford you might want to check when the boats run. Sometimes they only run once a day on the weekends and no week day hours. We were lucky, we got to see a lot dolphins on our trip in November.

I did offshore sailboat deliveries and that was our first stop from BVIs. Loved it! Now I drive 4 hours from Virginia Beach and stay at the Inlet Inn and eat crab cakes down the block. Am a member of their Historical Society and Maritime Museum. They have a great House Tour in December. Always interesting boats at the Marina. One of my favorite places!

The horses would be wonderful to see. So rare to see them in the wild. The French bakery also looks so inviting. I would love to visit Beaufort when I get to the Outer Banks.
