Okay, so I’m an easy sell since I already really want to go to Michigan, but I didn’t have Grand Rapids in mind! It looks really nice! Especially the Japanese Garden. And the giant horse statue hahaha. I’m personally not a big beer person, but a lot of my friends are so it sounds like it would be a really nice friends getaway destination!

I spent about a week around Michigan two years ago but didn’t make it to Grand Rapids. Honestly the food and drink you had looks worth it just for that!

So cool that you were able to visit a place with which you had some ties and expectations. I am from the mid-west and spent a weekend in Grand Rapids earlier this year and I was also blown away. I visited with my 3 year old son, so it was good to read about your experiences from a different perspective. We also visited the Meijer Gardens and I was so impressed. We also visited Founders Brewery and a few other breweries and love that aspect of Grand Rapids. Thanks for the detailed and in-depth guide of the area; I’m sure I’ll be back with my husband and I’ll bookmark this post for some great outdoor suggestions!

I lived about 2 hours from Grand Rapids from 10 years old until I was 21 and believe I’ve only passed through once 🙁 Sad, right? I could easily pop in when I go to visit my parents next time and I might just do that!
