My second trip to Rome got canceled and I postponed it. Hope I get to visit Italy again soon as it is an amazing place.

She’s in Nice, now. She finally made it to Europe, if even without me. I loved this post – the picture of the bread in the windows – biscotti – whatever – and all those pastel petit fours. @Kelly, I think it is good for a home-base, visit Florence a day or two, get out into the countryside, come back and visit some more. Having said that, I would love to rent a Tuscan farmhouse and stay a month pretending I could live there permanently.

I’m so glad you didn’t keep those pictures to yourself. They’re too beautiful. I’ve been to Florence a few times and I feel like I love your Florence better than mine. I enjoy so much of Italy and Florence isn’t on the top of my list. I prefer the smaller towns and countryside – where you can really get some good clothing line shots!

@Tamara, it is strange for such a small, walkable city, it is jammed-packed with a hundred things to do, so it is impossible to see it all in one trip…unless that trip is for a month! I missed trying that soup, now I must go back for that!

The one with the lion by the Duomo might be my favorite but they are all spectacular. I’m a fan of Florence. I’ve only been once but we will definitely go back. I had the most amazing pappa alla pomodoro soup there, perfect for a rainy day.
