As residents continue to feel the financial impacts of the coronavirus, Simi Valley became the latest municipality to launch a rental assistance program.

The city of Simi Valley Emergency Rental Assistance Program will assist low-income city residents who were financially impacted by the coronavirus, the city announced last week

Eligible applicants can receive up to three months of rental assistance or up to $5,000, whichever is less. Applicants must be a resident of Simi Valley, be financially impacted by COVID-19, and have an annual income less than 50% of the area median income for Ventura County.

This income limit varies by household size. For example, for a household of four this income limit would be $56,450, but for a household of one it would be $39,550.
