Whether you’re travelling abroad or taking a staycation, handy travel-sized versions of your favorite products are a must, along with a selection of face coverings of course. Here are eleven of the best new travel-sized products, launched in recent months and suggestions for masks, both surgical and fashionable.

Beloved Porto-based perfumier Claus Porto has just launched travel sized versions of its most popular scents. The 130-year old Portuguese company is renowned for its beautifully packaged handmade soaps in vintage designs. And complementing these is the new Agua de Colonia Collection with five lovely fragrances, created by the British perfumer Lyn Harris (founder of Miller Harris). The elegant, travel-sized fragrances were inspired by Ms Harris’ travels throughout Portugal. Agua Flores brings to mind a meadow of flowers with notes of jasmine and orange blossom. There are six other beautifully packaged, gorgeous scents to choose from: Agua Vetiver, Agua Clementina, Agua Porto, Agua Geranium and Agua Fougere.

Great facial products in your carry on bag are a must to revive tired skin. British company Aurelia’s new travel kit contains their favorite products including miracle cleanser with a bamboo muslin cloth, revitalise and glow serum (4ml), cell revitalise day moisturiser (20ml) and cell revitalise night moisturiser (20m) – all packaged in a chic black zip up wash bag.

If you prefer to avoid using often damaging hotel shampoo, the travel sized shampoos and conditioners from organic brand Rahua are brilliant. The brand was created by New York City hairstylist Fabian Lliguin who, after visiting the Amazon rainforest as an environmentalist, noticed that the local people had fantastically lustrous hair by using Rahua oil produced from Rahua nuts. After the rainforest trip, Anna Ayer, Fabian’s wife and business partner, added her expertise as a fashion designer and together they launched the Rahua brand to formulate a line of innovative, plant-based products featuring rahua oil. The new Rahua jetsetter kit includes four travel sized bottles of their two popular shampoos and conditioner (classic and voluminous). There are travel sized versions of their shower gel and palo santo oil perfume too.

Travel sized hand creams are key to combat dry cabin air but they can sometimes leak and make mess. The Edinburgh Natural Skincare company’s creation of a solid hand cream was a genius idea for travelling or for everyday use. The 50 gram bars are available in four lovely scents, including essential oils and are packaged in compact, reusable tins. Gardener’s hand balm includes lavender and bergamot, the Queen bee has beeswax and lemongrass, Rosewood has rosewood essential oil, while Luxury No. 1 features lime, clove and sweet orange.

Another absolutely genius new invention and ideal for travel, is a natural, aluminium-free deodorant in a tube, from AKT. Available in three scents, this paste deodorant blends active botanicals, shea butter and calendula oil with Deo-Barrier Complex™ that prevents perspiration all day. The deodorant is the creation of two London dancers, Ed Currie and Andy Coxon who found mainstream deodorants or natural ones weren’t providing the protection required in long, gruelling dance routines. After three years of researching and developing the ideal formula, they tested it on West End performers before releasing it commercially. The current product launched in spring 2020 has been a roaring success.

Holy Grail Beauty Company’s new travel pack offers serious help for your travel-worn face, with one week’s worth of each of 5-in-1 Rejuvenating Facial Serum and Retinol Repair Skin Creme. Made up of 70% organic bases, both products claim they’ll plump, hydrate and brighten the skin.

If your favorite products aren’t available in travel sizes, pre-labelled travel-sized bottles from new UK company M.O.B.(My Own Brand) Collection are the ideal solution. M.O.B. reusable travel bottles also have a low carbon footprint as all bottles are made in the UK from BPA free, recyclable HDPE (high density polyethylene) plastic.

As face masks are essential for the foreseeable future, at home and abroad, why not choose an attractive one? Many fashion designers are offering a range of masks. Isabel Manns’s 100% cotton mask come in nine different designs, including a pretty blue floral one. They are machine washable, made in her London atelier and all profits go to the NHS. Johan Ku also offers non-surgical polyester and silk masks in pretty floral designs. Harem London offers a unisex design in solid colors for their non-surgical, washable and re-usable face masks made from 100% polyester. All profits to the NHS.

Although certainly not as attractive as fashion face coverings, if you’re concerned about travelling in close quarters with others, on trains or planes, it’s worth considering Breath Happy, claiming to be the world’s first over 95% filtration efficient reusable face mask. Unlike other masks, these protect the wearer too. Breath Happy’s latest model “the commuter” offers even more protection at 98% filtration. The base is made out of soft silicon so it’s reasonably comfortable and easy to breath through and you simply change a disposable filter that slips easily into the front, every seven days.
