Two New Jersey towns were ranked among the “Best Places to Live in America” for 2020 by Money.com.

Out of 50 communities on this year’s list, Mount Laurel placed at 16th overall and Bridgewater Township ranked at 31st overall in the entire country, according to the publication, which cites “great jobs, safe streets, and affordable homes” in its new ranking issued for 2020 this week.

To determine this year’s Best Places To Live, Money analyzed a list of 1,890 communities with a population of at least 25,000. The publication then analyzed 115 separate data points on each community’s economy, housing market, education system, employment, weather and more

Reporters then researched each location to ensure the statistics were an accurate representation of each community.

Here are some statistics that factored into Mount Laurel’s ranking:

  • Population – 42,000
  • Median Household Income – $101,000
  • Median Home Price – $214,000
  • Unemployment Rate – 13.7 percent

Money said Mount Laurel is a family-oriented town brimming with kid-friendly fun.

“Head to the Funplex for some go-karting ($49 for an all-day pass), stop by the nearby CoCo Key Water Resort Park, or enroll in junior zookeeper camp at Paws Discovery Farm, where you can interact with pigs, cows, sheep, goats and free-roaming chickens and peacocks. The community hosts a number of annual family events, too, such as the Summer Concert Series. This year’s event featured local musician Sara James,” the publication notes.

Here are some statistics that factored into Bridgewater’s ranking:

  • Population – 45,000
  • Median Household Income – $128,000
  • Median Home Price – $390,000
  • Unemployment Rate – 13 percent

Money pointed to Bridgewater’s top-notch schools, parks, playgrounds, and family-friendly restaurants.

“If you’re on the hunt for a great place to raise a family near New York City, this New Jersey suburb might be it. Just an hour from NYC and slightly more to Philadelphia, it offers easy access to big-city amenities — minus the big-city prices,” the publican stated.
