Amazon announced on Wednesday that it has partnered with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to launch a train ticket reservation facility for its customers in India.

With the launch of the train booking facility, Amazon Pay has added a new travel category that already serves as a one-stop shop for booking flights and bus tickets. The booking features are open to both Android and iOS app users.

“We are delighted to partner with IRCTC and take another step forward to make life easy and convenient for our customers. Last year, we launched flight and bus ticket booking on Amazon. With the ability to book reserved train tickets on our platform, we enable travel in any mode that customers prefer, ”said Vikas Bansal, president of Amazon Pay.

With the new offering, Amazon customers can check seat availability and quota for all train classes on the Amazon app. Customers can book their tickets by clicking the trains / travel category under the Amazon Pay tab and checking PNR status live, downloading and canceling tickets. They can use Amazon Pay Balance for fast and hassle-free payments that are immediately refunded in the event of cancellation or failed booking.

When booking their first train ticket, Amazon customers will receive 10 percent cash back of up to Rs 100, while Prime members can get 12 percent cash back up to Rs 120. For the introductory period, Amazon has also waived transaction fees for service and payment gateway.
