High tea at Mohican Castle
Landoll’s Mohican Castle near Loudonville will be hosting high tea on two upcoming Saturdays — 1 and 3:30 p.m. Oct. 17 and Oct. 24.
The traditional tea service will feature scones, pastries and sandwiches that will highlight local artisans and regional tastes. Tickets cost $40 and must be purchased in advance at MohicanAutumnHighTea.eventbrite.com.
Champaign County cemetery tours
Historic tours of Urbana’s Oak Dale Cemetery are scheduled for Oct. 23 and 24.
The 40-minute tours, led by local historian John Bry, will begin at 5, 6, 7 and 8 p.m. each evening. Bry will tell interesting stories about the people buried in the cemetery. Tour-goers are encouraged to take flashlights and will be required to wear face masks.
Non-refundable tickets cost $10, or $5 for children ages 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and younger.
Tour sizes are limited and tickets must be purchased in advance at ccpapreserveohio.org.
Proceeds benefit the Champaign County Preservation Alliance.
Fall foliage frolics
Trees have started changing colors in northern Ohio, with peak color to arrive in the state in mid- to late October, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR).
The ODNR is offering a fall foliage portal on its website, with weekly color updates and information to help plan a fall color adventure; ideas for scenic road trips; information about unique overnight accommodations at Ohio State Parks; and fun activities to do around the state.

Steinem virtually at Freedom Center
The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati will host “Unpacking Voter Suppression: A Virtual Discussion with Gloria Steinem,” an online event with the feminist icon.
The free event, centered on the importance of voting rights, is scheduled at 7 p.m. Oct. 22 via Zoom.
