Dick’s Sporting Goods will ramp up its national recruiting efforts this month with a goal of hiring 9,000 for the busy holiday season.

The Pittsburg, Pa.-based retailer announced it will launch seasonal recruiting efforts on its third annual “National Signing Day,” Oct. 14.

New roles will provide extra staffing and service at stores and distribution centers, the company news release said. Positions include fulfilling curbside contactless pickup and ship-from-store orders to help customers shop safely this holiday season.

Dick’s is looking for applicants with a passion for sports to help guide, inform, equip and inspire customers, the release states. Teammates will receive a 15% pay premium through the end of the year and an up-to 25%-off store discount.

“Our in-store teammates are key to providing the exceptional customer service experience and expert guidance our customers expect,” said Julie Lodge-Jarrett, senior vice president and chief people officer.

Interested applicants should apply online at dicks.com/jobs, and then visit their local store on “National Signing Day,” Oct. 14, to be interviewed.
