This holiday season comes with an extra serving of small screen Dolly Parton.

The world-class songwriter and longtime Tennessee entertainer debuts a seasonal special, “Dolly Parton’s Christmas On The Square,” Nov. 22 on Netflix. The program co-stars Parton and features 14 of her original songs.

Debbie Allen directed and chirographer “Christmas on the Square,” which follows the “rich and nasty” Regina Fuller as she reconnects with her small town roots after her father’s death. During her trip home, Fuller (played by Christine Baranski) finds old love and seeks wisdom from a holiday angel (played by Parton).

Per Netflix, “This is the story about family, love, and how a small town’s Christmas spirit can warm even the coldest of hearts.”

The cast features Jenifer Lewis, Treat Williams and Jeanine Mason; Parton executive produced “Christmas On The Square” with Allen, collaborator Sam Haskell and writer Maria Schlatter.

Magnolia Hill Productions — the company behind Parton’s 2019 Netflix show “Heartstrings” and 2015 holiday special “Coat of Many Colors” — produced “Christmas On The Square” alongside Sandollar Productions and in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Parton released Tuesday a bluegrass-tinged title track for the film, which comes as part of her new holiday album, “A Holly Dolly Christmas.” The song — a seasonal romp that hears Parton setting a scene for small-town holiday cheer — features bluegrass favorites Rhonda and Darrin Vincent.
