ITV Coronation Street fans were left scratching their heads this evening after Kevin Webster said he was planning a globe-trotting holiday.

It all kicked off in tonight’s visit to the cobbles, as Debbie told her brother Kevin that Abi is “clearly” having an affair after coming to the wrong conclusion.

Billy and Paul got comments about their piece in the Gazette, prompting them to query telling Sean and Eileen about it – and their search for Todd. The last time viewers saw Todd was in late 2017 when he fled Weatherfield with Billy’s goddaughter Summer after her grandmother Geraldine attempted to gain custody of the girl.

When they were tracked down by the police, Todd assaulted a police officer and ran off on his own.

Welsh-born Gareth Pierce is to make his debut on Coronation Street imminently and will be the second actor to be cast as Todd Grimshaw.

In other scenes this evening, Daniel visited Nicky in the hospital and Geoff showed up at Adam’s searching for an envelope stuffed with cash.

Geoff ominously told Adam: “I think I know who’s got it.”

But it was Kevin’s plans to surprise Abi with a getaway to Australia that got viewers talking, particularly while the coronavirus pandemic rages on.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts.
