Marine life theme park in Abu Dhabi 40% complete

The next mega attraction on Yas Island – a marine life theme park – is now more than 40 per cent complete, authorities have said.

Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, on Monday visited the upcoming marine life theme park called SeaWorld Abu Dhabi.

In collaboration with SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment, the landmark project will bring the ‘next generation of marine life theme parks’ to Yas Island and will be home to the UAE’s first dedicated marine research, rescue, and rehabilitation centre.

It will have world-class research facilities that can support regional and global conservation efforts.

The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2022.

Spanning a total area of 183,000sqm, the multi-level SeaWorld Abu Dhabi will feature purpose-built habitats and ecosystems that will house different species as if they are in the wild.

It will be home to one of the world’s largest and most progressive indoor aquariums and feature an immersive ride that takes guests on a visually stunning journey from pole to pole.
