Online booking for the COVID-19 Care Clinics on Moodie Drive and Heron Road went live Monday night.

Instruction on how to book an appointment and who is eligible were posted at 6 p.m. on the Ottawa Public Health website as well as the websites for Montfort Hospital and the Queensway Carleton Hospital .

Those with mild symptoms can book a swab-only visit. Those who are suffering more serious symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, chest pressure or discomfort, or who feel they need to see a doctor can book a swab and an appointment with a physician.

Those without access to the internet can call 613-721-4722 to book a time at the Moodie site or 613-288-5353 for the Heron site. At launch, the reservation service is English only, but the service will be available in French as soon as possible.

The clinics will abide by the provincial guidelines for testing, meaning you should only book an appointment if you:

  • Are showing COVID-19 symptoms; or
  • Have been exposed to a confirmed case of the virus, as informed by your public health unit or exposure notification through the COVID Alert app; or
  • Are a resident or work in a setting that has a COVID-19 outbreak, as identified and informed by your local public health unit; or
  • Are eligible for testing as part of a targeted testing initiative directed by the Ministry of Health or the Ministry of Long-Term Care.

The West COVID-19 Care Clinic is located at 595 Moodie Drive and the East COVID-19 Care Clinic is located at 1485 Heron Rad. Both are open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Residents can also get access to COVID-19 testing at the Brewer Assessment Centre (located at 151 Brewer Way and open 8:30 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., seven days a week) and the drive-thru Assessment Centre on Coventry Road (by appointment-only).
