The October 2020 Youth Clinics schedule has been published and there are many opportunities for kids of all ages.

The opportunities start the week of Monday, Oct. 5.

Elementary Art Today sessions are $20 each and Middle School Art Today sessions are $35 each. Register by the day before your desired class for one of the 10 spots in the class. The reservation helps staff make sure they don’t go over the room limit and helps the instructor know how many art supplies to buy.

Elementary Art Today sessions for students grades one through four are Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Middle School Art Today sessions for students grades 5 through 8 are Tuesdays from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

The Art Project session on Wednesdays is free and is open to all ages under 18. It is an opportunity for youth to help the Recreation and Parks Department with its Halloween decorations.

“We will try to use these decorations year after year, so if you are looking for ways to get involved or want to do some painting, please come by the Civic Center on Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m. to help,” Recreation & Parks assistant Kendal Baxter said.

Volleyball, tennis and pickleball clinics are $15 per session. These clinics are taught by certified instructor, David Bowman. You can purchase one of his punch cards for $120 and attend 10 classes of volleyball, tennis and/or pickleball. There will be no clinics on Thursday, Oct. 29, due to the Recreation and Parks Department’s Drive-Through Halloween event. More information on that event can be found on orrecparks.oakridgetn.gov.

Volleyball clinics are Tuesdays from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., tennis clinics are Mondays from 3:45 to 5:15 p.m. Wednesdays from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and pickleball clinics are Thursdays from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. and Fridays from 4 to 5 p.m.

To register and for more information about these activities, call the Civic Center at (865) 425-3450 or email [email protected].
