Oculus Quest 2 games and experiences have been detailed as part of Facebook Connect and there’s a lot on the way — including brand-new Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed games exclusive to the platform.
The Oculus Quest 2 was officially revealed today (alongside the sad news that Facebook is killing the Oculus Rift). Of course, a gaming platform isn’t much without games to play on it, and so Oculus revealed a whole bunch of new titles that are coming to the platform.
Some of these titles were known quantities, either through earlier reveals or rumors. That said, there’s a lot of fresh additions to the Oculus Quest 2 games and experiences, so let’s dive in!
What Are the New Oculus Quest 2 Games and Experiences?
A whole bunch of new Oculus Quest 2 games and experiences are on the way. Two of the most notable additions are the new Splinter Cell and Assassin’s Creed VR games that are coming exclusively to the platform, but they’re far from the only cool things on offer.
Assassin’s Creed VR
Assassin’s Creed VR is one of two VR titles in development by Ubisoft exclusively for Oculus. Both games are being created from the ground up by multiple Ubisoft studios working in concert. More details will follow in the future.
Beat Saber Multiplayer + BTS Music Pack
Multiplayer is finally coming to Beat Saber — now you’re going to have to back up your trash talk with actual skills! Furthermore, the K-Pop boy band BTS is getting 12 of their hit songs added to the game via the BTS Music Pack.
The Climb 2
This rock-climbing game features 15 new maps for players to explore along with the ability to participate in global events and leaderboards.
Jurassic World Aftermath
Jurassic World has fallen to pieces and there’s a tiny problem: there’s some confidential research that you need to acquire. Best of all, you’ve crashed-landed smack in the middle of an island overrun by deadly monsters. Can you grab what you need and escape alive?
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond was first revealed earlier this year. Although there will be plenty of gameplay here, there will also be interviews from survivors of World War 2 talking about their experience included with this game.
Myst is a legendary franchise in the world of puzzle games and now a remastered experience build specifically for VR has been named as one of the new Oculus Quest 2 games and experiences. If you prefer to play your puzzles on a 2D screen, you’ll be happy to hear that this reimagination is coming to Steam and GOG as well.
Pistol Whip 2089
Cloudhead’ss rhythm- shooter gets expanded with new weapons, new robotic threats, and a kickin’ new soundtrack with a synthwave inspiration.
Welp, that didn’t take long — Bigbox VR is creating a Battle Royale for the Oculus platform. This new shooter puts a new spin on the genre by allowing players to fly around pretty much anywhere in the world.
Splinter Cell VR
As with the Assassin’s Creed VR game, this new Splinter Cell game is coming as one of the new Oculus Quest 2 games and experiences sometime in the future. Multiple Ubisoft studios will be collaborating on this project.
Sniper Elite VR
Sniper Elite VR will bring the finest long-range testicle shooting action to the Oculus Quest 2. This upcoming game from Just Add Water and Rebellion will also be coming to PlayStation VR and SteamVR.
Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge
This new Star Wars experience puts players smack dab in the middle of Batuu, surrounding you with familiar characters and landscapes from this beloved sci-fi franchise. VR not your thing? You could always visit Batuu in The Sims 4 instead.
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners
The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners has been out on SteamVR since the start of 2020 and it will soon be making its way to Oculus on October 13, 2020.
Warhammer 40,000: Battle Sister
The Emperor protects! As this game wasn’t written by Matt Ward, the Sisters of Battle actually have a fighting chance. Wield bolters, plasma weapons, and all sorts of other tech to fight off the enemies of mankind in this VR first-person shooter!
…and some Japanese Games, Too
The Oculus Quest 2 games and experiences had one last footnote to add: four Japanese games are coming soon, right as the headset is gearing up for its Japanese launch and will be available on Day 1. These games are:
- Kizuna AI – Touch the Beat!
- Little Witch Academia VR
- Rez Infinite
- Space Channel 5 VR Kinda Funky News Flash!
And that’s it! These new Oculus Quest 2 games and experiences promise a lot of content for the virtual reality enthusiast in your life. With this long list of new titles on the way, I think it’s safe to say that VR is going to be sticking around for quite a while.
