The No. 2 slot on the ranking belonged to the Alamo City alone. Sisters Grimm Ghost Tours, which dives in to the haunted history of Old San Antonio, took home second place.
“San Antonio began as a Spanish settlement in 1691, and it’s acquired its fair share of ghosts and restless spirits since,” the publication wrote.
“Sisters Grimm Ghost Tours take visitors inside the Menger Hotel (the most haunted hotel in Texas), one of the city’s first hospitals, the San Fernando Cathedral and the Bexar County Jail.”
A third San Antonio-area attraction also ranked among the top thrillers.
New Braunfels Ghost Tours, a 90-minute walking tour that regales visitors with tales from the town’s “murderous history,” came in at No. 8 on the list.
