The Houston Astros have largely avoided fan vitriol this year due to COVID-19 restrictions in place prohibiting fans from attending games.

But that didn’t stop some from taunting the team on Tuesday during their Game 1 Wild Card matchup with the Minnesota Twins.

Two Twins fans showed up to Target Field outside one of the gates with a trash can and wooden spoon so they could do their part in mocking the team.

A video on Twitter showed one of the fans banging the can while chanting “Hous-ton Aster-isks!”

According to For the Win, the fan was either asked to leave or put the trash can away, so it’s uncertain if their voices reached the field of play.

While the Astros reached the postseason this year, they certainly seemed to take a step back after the sign-stealing scandal came to light during the offseason.

The Astros have largely avoided the constant heckling from fans, but did get into a bit of a dust-up with the Los Angeles Dodgers earlier in the season when Joe Kelly threw near the heads of Alex Bregman and Carlos Correa.
