MILLBURN, NJ — The town of Millburn has extended its partial closure of Main Street through Monday Sept. 28, and will have live music on several Tuesday nights in September. Restaurants and fitness instructors can operate outdoors. Main Street will remain closed between Millburn Avenue and Essex Street until Sept. 28 at 7 a.m.

Lot 1 will also continue to operate as an outdoor dining space except on Tuesdays during the Farmer’s Market. Live music will run on Main Street most Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., weather permitting.

“We remind visitors to our business districts to wear a mask when in public spaces where effective distancing is not feasible,” the town said in an announcement. “Mask up, shop local!”

In other event news, residents will participate in the Tour de Millburn Community Bike Ride this Sunday.

The Tour de Millburn will begin at Lot 19 on Essex Street and follow one of three routes around Millburn, including a 12-mile route beginning at 8 a.m., a 7-mile route beginning at 8:30 a.m. and a two-mile route beginning at 9 a.m. Rain date is Sept. 27.

Registration was offered through Community Pass, but the number of participants is limited for safety reasons. Participants must wear a mask and bring their own water, and no spectators are allowed.
