Drivers are being warned of a road closure in Ayrshire this weekend.
The A76 between Southfield Kennels and the Mauchline North Gateway is closing at 8pm tonight- and will not reopen until Monday morning.
Drivers are being advised to allow plenty of additional time for their journeys throughout this weekend closure.
The closure is to allow resurfacing work to take place.
A further road closure is expected to take place on Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Darren Mitchell, Amey’s Senior Structural Maintenance Engineer said: “This is an extremely important section of the trunk road network, and as such is used by emergency services, freight, retail and delivery traffic as part of their essential working.
“It is vital that we complete these works in order to maintain road safety.
“To condense the working period, this project will be carried out under a full weekend closure, reducing the potential impact on this community as it recovers at this time.”
The closure will be implemented during the following times: 8pm on Friday, October 9 until 6am on Monday, October 12.
A further overnight closure will be necessary on the Monday evening to allow final lining works to be delivered.
