The Stark Museum of Art will reopen to guests today at 9 a.m. after being closed since the COVID-19 shutdown in the spring.

Staff have partitioned off the museum with signs and path guides that will help make sure guests don’t cluster together in the museum. Masks must be worn at all times inside the building.

The Stark Museum is known for one of the country’s most significant collections of American Western art and features paintings, sculpture, prints and rare books from 19th century frontier artists and the 20th century artistic colonies in New Mexico.

The Stark Museum has been using its Western theme to ring in the changes, asking guests to “channel their inner cowboy and mask up.”

A special exhibition called “The Drawing Experience” and a community gallery exhibition of art from the Orange County High School senior art program will be on display. The museum is also displaying for a limited time three vehicles from its collection: a 1911 Hupp Motor Car Company Roadster known as the Hupmobile, the 1922 Ford Model T Runabout Truck and the 1950 Crosley Super Sport.

The museum will be open Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Admission is free.

A new daiquiri shop and restaurant has opened in a shopping center on North 11th Street in Beaumont.

Flame 2.0 Daiquiri and Bistro was opened by Jeremy Reed in late September.

Along with custom flavors and mixes of daiquiris, Flame 2.0 has been serving seafood and wing specials once a week.

It is styled as a casual lounge and hookah lounge and offers drive-thru or curbside service for food orders. It also features a DJ each weekend.

Lowe’s will be the next store to add contactless pickup at all of its locations, including in Southeast Texas, by next spring.

Lowe’s has announced plans to install pickup lockers at all U.S. stores by the end of March 2021.

It will also add an option for store pickup on its website that will be available at more than 1,700 stores.

Orders will generate a scannable barcode sent to customers that will be used to access their order once they are in the store.
