Zoo Boo, the Houston Zoo’s annual merry-not-scary Halloween event, returns this year with new experiences and COVID-19 safety measures.

Scheduled for October 2 to November 1., the festivities will include the Spooky Train Village, where visitors can hear short stories from a friendly dragon and take a spin on the Scary-Go-Round, according to a Monday release.

Guests will also enjoy special animal enrichment activities on the weekends, snaps by more than 10 Instagram-worthy spots located throughout the grounds and a weekly online costume contest.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, the zoo will not feature a pumpkin patch or candy giveaways. As well, safety guidelines include face masks and social distancing.

All Zoo Boo activities are included in the price of general admission, $22.95 per adult and $17.95 per child.
